In partnership with Ocean Crusaders, OCCA is hosting two exciting waterway clean-up events this May – and spots are filling quickly.
Hardcore Clean-Up | Saturday 2nd May | Oxley Creek Common, Rocklea
Ready to get stuck in? The Hardcore Clean-Up is perfect for those who want to make a big difference and aren’t afraid to get muddy. Volunteers will be picked up from the pontoon at Oxley Creek Common by the Ocean Crusaders boat and will spend their morning removing large rubbish items from the creek bank and waterway.

Paddle Against Plastic | Sunday 3rd May | Kendall St Canoe Ramp, Oxley
Join us on the water as we paddle along Oxley Creek, removing plastic and debris while enjoying the outdoors. Participants can either hire a single ($7.11) or double kayak ($12.90) from Ocean Crusaders or bring their own. Our last Paddle Against Plastic event removed 520 kg of waste from the waterway! Can we beat our record?

These events are not only impactful, but also a great way to spend time outdoors, meet like-minded people, and be part of something meaningful. If you would life more information about these upcoming events, please contact Lindsay at occa_po@oxleycreekcatchment.org.au.
These events are funded by Brisbane City Council’s Environment Grant.
