Welcome to the Oxley Creek Catchment Association’s (OCCA) Corporate Volunteer Program

OCCA offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection and enhancement of the waterways and riparian (creek bank) habitat of Oxley Creek Catchment. We offer local businesses and community groups a range of team building and conservation activities in an urban environment.

With over five major tributaries, significant and endangered animal and plant species and many diverse ecosystems, the catchment of Oxley Creek is an ideal place for you to target your conservation efforts.

Our Corporate Volunteering activities include:

High quality photos. Photos for publishing. Various. Creek Watch. Workshop. Erosion.

  • Removal of weed species
  • Litter collection
  • Guided walks and site history
  • Flora and fauna identification
  • Plant propagation and nursery work (available for small groups only)
  • Tree planting (additional fee required)

To maximise your environmental experience OCCA staff and volunteers will

  • Plan your volunteering experience
  • Facilitate the event
  • Carry out site preparation
  • Provide specialist knowledge of flora and fauna

How to be involved

OCCA’s Partnerships team can help you plan an event that caters to your availability, interests and needs. You will need to provide us with the number of participants and preferred date and time.

Cost

OCCA is a community not-for-profit organisation that depends on external funding and grants and the support of its volunteers. Our program costs include facilitation by OCCA’s Partnerships Officer, insurance cover, site preparation and equipment maintenance.

Half day (3 hour) events: $240 administration fee plus $100 per person (+ GST)

Full Day (6 hour) events: $240 administration fee plus $140 per person (+ GST)

Please note that we require a minimum booking number of 10 people.

Tree Planting (half and full day) events require an additional contribution to cover the cost of site preparation, seedlings, watering and weed maintenance. Please get in touch to find out more.

Additional information

Seven days notice of cancellation is required for a full refund. Activities can be rescheduled in the event of wet weather.

Participants must wear enclosed shoes and sun safe clothing. Please bring a water bottle and hat.
